Lime Cordiale who just scored four songs under 40 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2019 and currently boast a total of over 92 million streams, return to the airwaves with another golden, hook-laden single titled Addicted To The Sunshine. The track is lifted off their forthcoming album which is due to be released in 2020 via Chugg Music / London Cowboys. The Sydney band who have been gaining huge momentum and winning over fans all over the world have recently announced they will return to the UK and Europe for a six-week run of headline shows after a tour of 12 dates across North America supporting Tones and I in February and April.

Of the irresistible bop which premiered on the airwaves on the triple j Breakfast show, the bands brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach discuss the important message behind Addicted To The Sunshine. “We’ve already heard people call Addicted to The Sunshine a very “Summery” song (and they’re not wrong) but with the sunshine, comes a little darkness as well. In Australia we love the sun. We love our sunny Summer activities. We love sun-baking, swimming and feeling the need for a selfie in front of a waterfall. The sun is our creator, it’s our life source and we’re addicted to it but we're letting it destroy us. It’s heating the planet and we’re cooking. This song is about getting up off our towels and changing bad habits. We need to consume less, offset our shitty actions and respect the sunshine and environment that we love.”

Directed by their long-time videographer Jack Shepherd, the brothers superbly play two research scientists from Planet B that come to Earth to report back on their findings. They land in Australia to find people having fun in the sun whilst the world starts to burn and deteriorate around them.

As part of their commitment to becoming as carbon neutral as possible across their recording, touring, and other activities, Lime Cordiale have teamed up with renewable energy organisation FEAT to invest in a range of renewable energy solutions. FEAT is the world-first initiative started by Heidi Lenffer of Cloud Control to give artists ownership over accelerating the clean energy future.

In-line with their latest single ‘Addicted to the Sunshine’ Lime Cordiale have teamed up with MadeinHemp to produce an exclusive hemp t-shirt with 100% of the profits going to FEAT.

All four Lime Cordiale songs that were eligible for nomination in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2019 came in under 40 with three in the top 20 in the countdown over the weekend. ‘Robbery’ at #7, ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’ #13, their sexy horn driven homage to The Divinyls’ ‘I Touch Myself’ for triple j’s Like A Version (which has so far received over 2.5 Million streams/views) #17 as well as ‘Money’ #32. Billie Eilish who took out the #1 spot had the most songs in the countdown (five), followed closely by Lime Cordiale and G Flip who tied at four songs each, plus Tones And I, Flume, Thelma Plum, Tame Impala, BENEE, and Ruel (at three songs each).

With one of the most talked about live shows in the country Lime Cordiale played more than 100 shows across the globe in 2019. With sold-out shows in every market, tens of thousands of tickets sold PLUS performing to packed out festival tents, the band toured constantly throughout Australia and New Zealand and somehow found the time to curate another successful festival event in THE SQUEEZE. All that time spent on the road over the last 12 months, the band have still managed to put the final touches to the follow up to their 2017 debut Permanent Vacation.

2020 will see the band return to the world stage having just announced a whopping run of 27 back-to-back headline shows for the UK and Europe throughout May and June which includes an appearance at The Great Escape Festival after playing alongside global phenomenon Tones and I on her huge North American tour.
