Brisbane indie-pop outfit, Hey Geronimo, are hosting and curating a series of shows at tastemaker Brisbane venue, Trainspotters (at Grand Central Station). The first event is set to feature three of their favorite local acts - My Own Pet Radio, Bilby and Born Joy Dead - on Saturday, 12th July. Hey Geronimo’s lead singer, Pete Kilroy, says of the night:
”We’re hoping these nights can help people see what indie music in this town (Brisbane) is all about and why we love it. These are bands that play music we love to listen to - so if we put them altogether on one bill in a great venue, everybody will have a great night."
When it come down to choosing a venue, Hey Geronimo were pretty excited about Trainspotters -"The people at Trainspotters have created something really special for the Brisbane music landscape. The indie scene needed some diversity and these guys have done really well to provide punters with a new venue to experience up-and-coming bands - one that isn't necessarily on the corner of Ann and Brunswick St!”, says Kilroy.
This first lineup will be headlined by My Own Pet Radio, the weirdly wild side project of Ball Park Music’s Sam Cromack, with Born Joy Dead (ex-Hungry Kids of Hungary) and one of Brisbane's most exciting undiscovered acts, Bilby.
